EXERCISING SAFELY AND MANAGING COMMON COMPLAINTS DURING PREGNANCY
Tracking # 20-380948
Course overview
Pregnancy adverse effects vary between women and between pregnancies. For some, adverse effects are severe while for others they are barely noticeable. It is important for dietitians and other healthcare professionals on the team to be aware of the adverse effects a woman may experience in pregnancy because they can interfere with her ability to get the necessary nutrition. These adverse effects include constipation, heartburn, leg cramps, nausea and vomiting. The RD's recommendations for specific foods and supplements and appropriate exercise can help alleviate adverse effects and sustain a healthy pregnancy. Exercise also helps prepare the mother's body for labor and postpartum recovery.
