Course overview

Big data, meaning the analysis of large datasets, is widely used in health care for discovery and decision making. Big data exist in most large health care organizations and laboratory data typically constitute a significant fraction of those data. This session will highlight the role of big data in laboratory medicine, approaches to its analysis, and discuss selected case examples from the literature.
