Course overview
This practical focuses on the assessment of temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). This practical covers key foundational aspects of the patient interview and the physical examination for patients presenting with orofacial symptoms, and has a strong focus on questions and skills relating to the jaw specifically. It will also touch on other relevant areas such as the teeth and the cervical spine which are important to consider in any assessment of potential TMDs. Information gathered from the foundational assessments covered in this practical will help develop your clinical reasoning and skills to determine i) if it's a TMD, ii) what type of TMD it might be, and iii) key priorities for management.
