Course overview

Horses affected by sinonasal disease for an extended time seldom respond to medical treatment. This can be due to inspissation of exudate, the presence of an infected cheek tooth, an intra-sinus benign growth (e.g. a sinus cyst or progressive ethmoid haematoma), a malignant tumour, or mycotic infection. Additionally, most sinus diseases are accompanied by infection of the nasal conchal bullae that can also cause continuing nasal discharge. A panel of world-renowned surgeons with extensive experience with sinonasal surgery will be discussing and debating the best diagnostic and therapeutic approaches through the presentation of routine and less common cases.
