Course overview
In a format that has been tested and refined over a number of years, Sabine Wilms and Debra Betts will discuss detailed and specific information for each of the ten months of pregnancy, and postpartum care from the perspectives of state-of-the-art biomedicine and classical Chinese medicine. Sabine will be covering the development of the fetus, physiological changes in the mother¿s body, and recommendations for maternal care (from diet and lifestyle to contraindicated acumoxa treatments. with brief excursions as outlined in the Chinese medical literature from the second to the tenth century CE. Debra will bring this information into the year 2016 with her wealth of practical clinical expertise and biomedical theories on the basis of the latest clinical research. Discussions are bound to be lively and involve participation from the audience.
