Veterinary professionals in general practice often feel challenged and under-resourced to appropriately manage emergent patients because they have limited experience, or lack the necessary equipment, staff, or time. Adopting a standard, stepwise approach to patient assessment and preliminary treatment can improve clinician proficiency and confidence and may help to improve patient outcomes.
