Small Animal Hybrid and Circular External Skeletal Fixation Workshop

Course overview

An advanced course developed for veterinary surgeons, surgical residents, and practitioners with a high level of orthopedic interest and experience. With a faculty having over 30 years of orthopedic surgical experience, this 2.5-day course will cover advanced hybrid and circular external fixation principles, as well as emerging trends in the field, through a hands-on curriculum. Throughout the course, participants will develop skills by constructing frames for complicated fractures, non-unions, bone defects, and other limb salvage techniques. Attendees will learn how to carry out a pre-surgical plan to correct common angular limb deformities, correct antebrachial length discrepancies, and also be introduced to the use of advanced imaging and 3D printing to enhance surgical planning. Modern biomechanical and surgical principles will be discussed, providing attendees with the latest advancements in external fixation.
