LENS MATERIALS covers the following areas: 1. Features and Benefits of Lens Materials: Know and understand the different features of lens materials, and the benefits to your patients. Describe the different lens materials commonly found in lens products. Understand Abbe Value and the Refractive Index and how these values impact the choice in lens materials for your patients eyeglasses. 2. Thickness and Weight of Ophthalmic Lenses: Describe what contributes to the thickness and weight of lenses and identify solutions to reduce the lens thickness and weight for a specific prescription.
