Embedding Communication and Language into Everyday Activities for Young Children

Course overview

At no other time in life will a child's brain be so receptive to the language learning process. As with all learning, babies and toddlers learn best in natural, immersive, predictable, secure, and playful moments. This 2-hour jam-packed, view-on-demand, recorded webinar, helps attendees understand typical developmental milestones as well as common red flags and areas of concern to aid in early identification. Additionally, multiple ideas and strategies for naturally embedding language activities into daily life assist early intervention providers in helping parents achieve ease and comfort in supporting their child's growth. Other topics discussed are the sensory-language connection, total communication tools, language acquisition through motor planning (LAMP), and AAC device use with toddlers. This course provides a perfect balance of foundational information and specific, creative ideas for immediate application. At the end of this course, you will be able to (1) identify at least three developmental language milestones for infants/toddlers (birth to 3), (2) state three strategies to embed language into daily routines, and (3) list the motor/sensory/language connection in infants and toddlers.
