FUNDAMENTALS OF OPHTHALMIC FRAMES covers the following three areas: 1. Frame Fitting Theory: Effective frame fit begins with proper frame selection. Opticians will learn about the positive and negative factors that patients should consider when selecting a frame. The optician will also learn about how to guide the patient towards the best possible selection for aesthetics and comfort. Learn about and be able to understand the specific methods necessary to achieve a proper and comfortable fit for the patient 2. Ophthalmic Frame Fundamentals: The learner will acquire the essential knowledge of frames. They will learn and be able to converse about the anatomy of a frame, identify different types of frames, understand the frame identification codes, and be able to identify the different frame materials. 3. Tools and Adjustments: The learner will familiarize themselves with the different tools required for frame adjustment. Learn about tools and consumables required in the mounting and adjustment process and understand what to do to fix issues with the patients eyewear.
