Course overview

As the number of people living with dementia continues to grow, it is becoming increasingly critical to modify our healthcare environments to maximize participation, independence, and comfort for these individuals. This can be achieved through the creation of dementia-friendly healthcare environments. In this course, rehabilitation therapists will learn about what dementia-friendly environments are and how to best support their patients through recommendations for both patient-specific and systemic changes. This course provides occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology professionals with strategies for creating dementia-friendly healthcare environments.
