Abdominal Trauma (V2)
Tracking # 20-383832
Course overview
Trauma is among the leading causes of death in the United States, and blunt abdominal trauma is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Patient history, physical examination, and treatment often occur concurrently for the trauma patient, so EMS providers must be diligent in the evaluation of the abdomen because of the increased mortality associated with unrecognized injuries. This program discusses how recognition and rapid transport of the severely injured abdominal trauma patient is perhaps the critical component of prehospital management.
