Allergy season is here- learn new dermatology tips and pearls based on science so you are ready to treat all of your itchy canine patients. Keys to treatment success will be shared including case examples that demonstrate how to best use fast, effective and safe anti-pruritic medications to maximize treatment success and compliance. A simplified diagnostic approach for acute and chronic cases of allergic itch will be shared. Studies on owner preferences and compliance with chewable vs. film-coated tablets and how to maximize treatment success with Cytopoint through additional injections will be presented. We will review the safety of Apoquel's (oclacitinib tablet) new 10-year pharmacovigilance data, and will describe how the safety of a drug is determined and how vaccine response study results and labels can differ among currently approved JAK inhibitors for dogs.
