Compassion Fatigue & Renewal: Trauma-Informed Care for Caregivers Online Course This self-paced online course supports Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage Family therapists, and other human service professionals who care for, support and provide services for clients with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and complex trauma histories. Caregivers and human service professionals work tirelessly to support individuals navigating trauma, often neglecting their own well-being in the process. This course focuses on the critical need for caregivers to prioritize their own emotional and physical health. Through expert-led discussions, participants will explore strategies for rest, regulation, and resilience-building to enhance their capacity for sustainable caregiving. The course includes 3 interactive self-paced modules designed for human service professionals. Each module includes lessons with podcast episodes, articles, media links, and/or interactive reflective exercises. Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Apply Polyvagal Theory principles to improve nervous system regulation and resilience. Demonstrate effective self-care strategies that prevent burnout and compassion fatigue. Analyze the role of rest and intentional pause in trauma recovery. Differentiate between co-regulation and self-regulation in professional caregiving. Examine the importance of safety and liberation in trauma-responsive care practices.
