Course overview
Undiagnosed urolithiasis can lead to chronic pain in the feline patient and frustration for both the veterinarian and pet parent. As point of care ultrasound (POCUS) ultrasound technology is becoming more accessible and user friendly in veterinary general practice, it is now easier than ever to incorporate into everyday use. Learning how to scan the feline bladder will improve the veterinarians diagnostic capabilities and elevate the level of care for cats with feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD). The participants will learn basic scanning skills and how to diagnose common lower urinary tract diseases with a focus on urolithiasis. There will also be a discussion on dissolution options and recommendations on when its time to pursue surgery.
