Transition to Charge Nurse: Fundamentals
Tracking # 20-1302214
Course overview
Charge nurses serve as the bridge between nursing staff, hospital administration, and patient care. While nurses are trained in clinical practice, they often receive little preparation for the leadership and management responsibilities required in a charge nurse role. New charge nurses may struggle with applying leadership principles, managing workflow, and fostering a positive unit culture. Without these skills, there is an increased risk of staff dissatisfaction, inefficient unit operations, and compromised patient care. To transition effectively, new charge nurses need foundational knowledge in management principles, leadership styles, and unit culture dynamics. This course provides nursing professionals with a basic overview of management and leadership principles and unit dynamics to successfully transition to a charge nurse role.
