Lecture Title 1: Foraging Enrichment Foraging is a natural behaviour exhibited by many exotic animals and birds, yet it is often overlooked in captive environments. Lack of appropriate mental and physical stimulation can lead to stress, stereotypies, and behavioural issues in these species. This webinar explores the science and practice of foraging enrichment, focusing on how to create species-appropriate, safe, and engaging foraging opportunities in clinical, zoo, and home settings. Participants will learn about natural feeding behaviours, enrichment planning, and practical applications for birds, reptiles, and small mammals. Through case examples and evidence-based strategies, veterinarians will be equipped to support clients and facilities in improving animal welfare through effective enrichment. Lecture 2: Exotic Palliative and Chronic Pain Management: This presentation explores key principles of palliative care and chronic pain management in exotic animals, including birds, reptiles, and small mammals. It covers recognizing subtle signs of discomfort, using multimodal pain control, and supporting patients through environmental and nutritional strategies-such as assisted feeding and targeted supplementation. The talk also emphasizes effective client communication, compassionate decision-making, and practical tools to improve quality of life through proactive pain management. Lecture 3: Intubation and Tube Feeding Intubation and tube feeding are vital but often challenging procedures in the management of exotic animals and avian patients.
