Imaging and Lab Diagnostics for the TCM Practitioner

Course overview

This 6-hour continuing education course is designed to enhance the diagnostic proficiency of licensed acupuncture physicians by integrating Western biomedical imaging and laboratory diagnostics with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinical thinking. Practitioners will learn how to interpret common imaging findings (e.g., X-ray, MRI, CT, and ultrasound) and lab tests (e.g., CBC, metabolic panels, thyroid tests, hormone panels) in the context of a TCM practice. The course will emphasize clinical relevance, red flag identification, collaborative care, and how to use biomedical data to inform acupuncture treatment strategies while staying within the TCM scope of practice.
