Petsitters and mobile vet professionals deliver essential in-home care for cats, ranging from medication administration to husbandry to TLC. But when a cat is fearful of unfamiliar people and handling, a home visit from a provider can significantly increase their fear, anxiety, and stress and prevent them from getting the medical care they need. In this talk, we'll discuss pre-visit tips to create a Fear Free plan for care, including gathering information about the feline and communicating with the caregiver. We'll also discuss methods to minimize stress when interacting with cats after arrival at the home and when providing common medical treatments.
