Course overview
This course provides practical training for CNAs and HHAs supporting clients recovering at home after surgery. It focuses on safe postoperative care, including mobility assistance, infection prevention, monitoring for complications, and maintaining clear communication within the care team. Although developed primarily for CNAs, HHAs, and other in-home caregivers, the postoperative safety, infection prevention, complication monitoring, mobility assistance, documentation, and care-team communication principles reviewed in this course are also relevant to RNs and LPNs across home care and other healthcare settings.
