Course overview
Course Overview This 40 hours course includes the initial 6 hour training. Course topics required by rule 64B9-14, 15, 16 and Chapter 464 under requirements of CNA's. Medication error and prevention, safety, documentation, controlled substance count and competency based evaluation of administration of medication as required by rule. This course includes both in person and alternative methods of instruction in a hybrid program.

Students enrolling into this course must have documentation that they have held an active Florida licensure for a minimum of one year prior to enrollment of this course.
- All exams must be passed with a score of 80% or higher
- All students must perform a medication administration "med pass" to be competency evaluated in order to be considered successful on the clinical portion of the course. The score must be considered passing as established by the institution.
- Students who have previously taken the original 6 hour medication administration course can be credited that time and complete the class in 34 hours. Proof of attendance must be submitted for acceptance.
- Only 34 of 40 hours may be completed online for training, the 6 hours must be in person to perform a safety review and competency evaluation as required by Florida Administrative Rules 64B9-14, 15, 16.
