Course overview
Short wave diathermy is the therapeutic elevation of temperature in the tissue by means of an oscillating electric current. Short wave diathermy can be used to treat inflammation of joint/tissue, sprains, strains, arthritis and tendonitis. The purpose of this course is to provide the participant with an overview of the principles of short wave diathermy. The lecture format will introduce the participants to indications and benefits of short wave diathermy. Participants will review treatment protocols and understand the implementation of the acute, sub-acute, and chronic treatment.
