Course overview
After completing the Infection Control for Dental Healthcare Professionals course, attendees will be able to understand the impact of healthcare-associated infections in dental settings. They will recognize the responsibility of dental professionals to follow infection control principles, define the chain of infection, and discuss prevention strategies for pathogens. Participants will demonstrate proper practices for cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization, and outline engineering and work practice controls to reduce exposure risks. Lastly, they will identify practices for managing and preventing infectious diseases, including bloodborne pathogens, in dental healthcare workers.
