Course overview

Hour 1 *Compare the similarities and differences between EDS and HSD in both diagnosis and clinical presentation. *Summarize the history of the diagnosis and classifications of EDS and HSD. *Discuss the scales/outcome measures commonly used with EDS and HSD patients. *Identify common comorbidities and complications of EDS and other HSD. *Name potential differential diagnoses for these conditions. *Recognize common patient presentations of individuals with EDS and HSD. Hour 2 *Develop a history taking protocol (including subjective complaints) for this patient population. *Identify possible precautions and referral protocols. *Recognize and address common postural faults seen in EDS and HSD patients. *Determine treatment methods and other self/home-care recommendations for this population. *Develop exercise modifications and exercise progression strategies in the context of EDS/HSD. *Formulate appropriate activity recommendations and management strategies.
