Course overview

This one hour course provides EMS providers and healthcare professionals with an in-depth understanding of common endocrine and metabolic emergencies, including diabetic crises such as diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS), thyroid storm, myxedema coma, adrenal insufficiency, and disorders of calcium and fluid regulation. Participants will explore the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and emergency management of these conditions, with a focus on rapid assessment, stabilization, and prehospital treatment strategies.
