Per Florida Statute 407.107(3), this program explores the ethical principles that are important to consider when working with trauma survivors. It presents a foundation for understanding the physiological, psycho-emotional and energetic dynamics of trauma from the perspective of neurobiology and Five Element Chinese medicine. This foundation serves as a departure point for exploring the critical choices a practitioner must make in order to provide ethical treatment for trauma survivors. With this awareness, practitioners can make situationally appropriate choices with respect to: patient consent, respecting rights and dignity, clinical transparency, cultural competency, non-discrimination, patient privacy, appropriate boundaries, scope of practice and other areas.
