This class will serve as both a review and an introduction to the articular biomechanics of the Axial Complex. Touch, palpation, and perception of normal motion versus dysfunction in the spine will be emphasized. Students will augment their understanding of the functions of the myofascial and ligamentous bed, either supporting or limiting motion. Students will further their skill in body readinghow local and global restrictions affect the whole structure, collaborate on designing and integrating client-centered Rolfing sessions, and demonstrate skill in assessing their interventions. Upon completion of the class, students will reliably identify and intervene with restrictions found in the axial complex. Students will identify the restriction or restrictions and apply the appropriate touch and technique to ease or change these restrictions. This Continuing Education class is open to Certified Rolfers and practitioners of Structural Integration who have completed an IASI Approved SI Training Program.
