Course overview

Burnout is a prevalent issue in behavioral health settings due to the work's demanding nature and the emotional toll it can take. There are countless examples of advice on mitigating burnout, but many helping professionals still suffer from it. Too often, clients feel it from helping professionals, too. This training aims to provide participants with strategies and tools to recognize, manage and prevent burnout. It will also help participants embrace the reality of burnout and recover from it. This session is for helpers who are feeling too burnt out to listen to more platitudes about burnout. Objectives: After completing this course, participants will be able to: 1. Identify personal and professional factors contributing to burnout. 2. Identify practical techniques for managing stress and promoting self-care. 3. Develop a supportive network within and outside the workplace to enhance resilience. 4. Create an individualized action plan for preventing and managing burnout.
