Rehabilitation professionals often focus on individual health behaviours clinical interventions and social determinants of health. However the commercial sector has become a powerful force affecting health outcomes. Pharmaceutical companies food and beverage corporations technology firms and fossil fuel industries can all influence health through their products marketing strategies lobbying efforts and global supply chains. This course explores how these commercial determinants impact health outcomes contribute to health inequity and affect healthcare access. This course aims to provide an overview of commercial determinants of health and equip rehabilitation professionals with the skills to identify a range of commercial factors that influence the health outcomes of individuals and communities.
