5-Element-Acupuncture: The Officials

Course overview

In this course, Danny Blyth explains the twelve officials of five element acupuncture, as first presented in chapter 8 of the Suwen (Simple Questions). He will show what an official is, what roles (both heavenly and earthly) are assigned to each official, and the five element "nicknames" that are given to each organ, explaining how these manifest in health and sickness. Danny will look at the structure of Suwen 8, compare some famous translations, and observe the order of the officials, and what this order can tell us of the classical understanding of the organs. This course gives a detailed overview of the twelve officials, each of which will be examined in detail during later lessons in the TCM academy five element course, to enhance your understanding of elemental imbalance.
