Dental Professionals have a unique opportunity to share life-saving information with their patients that are addicted to nicotine products. At the completion of this course the participants should be able to:
- Discuss with patients the different forms of nicotine delivery systems.
- Have a working knowledge of the types and dosing of FDA approved medications and OTC products to treat nicotine addiction.
- Be introduced to a systematic approach to counseling their patient chairside.
- Be introduced to the concepts involved with Motivational Interviewing as an approach to behavioral change.
