( HS Ferentz 150252 2025) How to Safely Use Hypnosis and Visualization with Trauma Survivors
Tracking # 20-1312698
Course overview
Historically, there have been mixed perspectives about using hypnotic and auto-hypnotic strategies with clients who are dissociative and have a backstory of trauma. We will discuss the ways in which hypnosis and visualization can access these clients; natural abilities to turn inward, while paying close attention to the inherent challenges that can surface when using these modalities. We will process the safest ways to do hypnotic inductions with this population, identifying the potential pitfalls and ways to avoid iatrogenic harm.
