This course examines the relationship between crisis, despair and suicidal ideation, offering a framework to leverage hope as a mechanism for moving away from despair. The course offers attendees tools and techniques for engaging despondent individuals in a conversation to spark hope and begin developing an action plan. Objectives: After completing this course, participants will be able to: 1. Describe the connection between crisis and despair as drivers for suicidal ideation. 2. Define the concept of hope as it relates to reducing despair. 3. Identify key techniques and tools to use with clients to facilitate the generation of hope.
