Course overview

The purpose of this course is to provide physicians and other healthcare professionals an in-depth, practical review of the latest evidence-based strategies for diagnosing and managing low back pain, one of the most common and challenging conditions encountered in clinical practice. Participants will explore the multifaceted causes of low back pain, including mechanical, neuropathic, and systemic origins, and learn to differentiate between acute and chronic presentations. The course emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach, covering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, physical therapy techniques, patient education, and when to consider advanced imaging or specialist referral. Providers will also gain insights into addressing psychosocial factors, implementing preventative measures, and employing shared decision-making to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
