Participants will be able to describe how the addiction industry attracts vulnerable people with a variety of addictive stimuli, will be able to describe the addictive traits of developmentally immature individuals, and dual diagnosis, will be able to describe how technology has contributed to addiction, will be able to describe the neuroscience of addiction, will be able to describe the impact of an addicted family member on the whole family and the resources available to families, will be able to describe how codependency, attachment styles, generational trauma, and socioeconomic challenges impact the efficacy of treatment, and will be able to describe what happens in treatment and the role of the family during treatment and after discharge.
