This interactive training provides mental health professionals with a comprehensive overview of the bidirectional relationship between anxiety and sleep disturbances in adults. Participants will learn about the high prevalence of insomnia and other sleep disorders in anxious populations and their significant impacts on functioning and treatment outcomes. Subjective and objective screening tools for sleep difficulties will be reviewed. Evidence-based treatment approaches will be discussed in depth, including cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), mindfulness techniques, sleep hygiene, and pharmacology. Strategies for integrated treatment planning that addresses anxiety and co-occurring sleep disorders concurrently will be covered.
