Course overview

Trauma, in its many forms, casts a long shadow over the lives of countless individuals. As a mental health professional, you recognize the profound impact trauma can have on your clients. The question is, how can you effectively address trauma and offer hope for healing? EMDR Therapy has emerged as a beacon of hope in the field of trauma treatment. Its evidence-based efficacy is endorsed by numerous prestigious organizations, and it has provided solace and recovery to millions worldwide since its introduction in 1989. Now, it's your turn to unlock its potential. In this presentation, Dr. Jamie Marich will help you introduce not just to the fundamentals of EMDR Therapy, but also to how EMDR Therapy conceptualizes trauma through the lens of what is called the adaptive information processing (AIP) model). This conceptualization can be useful to all professionals who want to operate in a more trauma-focused way in their clinical work, whether or not they go on to do a full training in EMDR Therapy. The course ends with an explanation of the full training process and helps you to determine if fully adding EMDR Therapy to your clinical repertoire is a good fit.
