One of the most challenging behavioral health problems is treating Substance Use Disorders. For many people. in the grip of this condition, they are resistant to help and in significant denial about even having a problem. Many people are forced into treatment by family members, medical professionals, and sometimes the criminal justice system. Others have reached the point where using alcohol and other drugs is causing them more problems than it's helping them with. Another major problem with people who do get treatment and/or move into recovery is the relapse rate is often extremely high. In this presentation, Dr. Stephen Grinstead will help you identify and manage resistance and denial and give you effective interventions to move people into quality recovery. You will also be exposed to ways to help your clients develop an effective relapse prevention plan before completing their treatment process and why it needs to be modified on an ongoing basis. The emphasis is on starting treatment with relapse prevention tools and starting relapse prevention with denial management tools. You will also be exposed to utilizing a "{Formula for Success."
