It can be overwhelming for some clinicians to know where to start in giving support to a client who is holding onto the past and experiencing intense pain and guilt in their grief. Having a conceptualization of diverse pain theories helps provide a framework for clinicians to better understand and support clients who are experiencing pain and in their grief. Attendees will learn many different approaches to use to better support a client who is experiencing guilt. We'll explore different aspects of saying goodbye, including reasons a client will hold tightly to their life before the loss, diverse goodbye rituals and various continuing bond activities. "Holiday Grief" is an experience that can be most challenging for many clients. This training will extend to areas for clinicians to be mindful of when supporting a clients grieving during the holidays, including signs, triggers, setting boundaries, and interventions related to Holiday Grief. After this training, Clinicians will be able to better equipped to support grieving clients who are struggling with the reality of their loss and Holiday Grief.
