Course overview

Strengthening Voice and Choice after Religious Trauma is a presentation by Joanna Carey, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and EMDR-Certified Therapist. Joanna Carey specializes with young adults who have experienced religious- and/or family-based trauma in their childhoods. This presentation is for mental health providers who want to develop an initial understanding of how religious trauma can impact a client, and it provides tools for within session and resources for outside of session for supporting clients as they strengthen their voice and choice moving forward. This event will include Small Group Discussion and Q&A, to further consider the nuances of how the presentation material can be applied in different mental health settings, with different populations, using different therapeutic modalities.
