Course overview

The opioid crisis continues to pose significant challenges to healthcare professionals, patients, and communities across the nation. Healthcare providers often face uncertainty in balancing adequate pain relief with the need to minimize opioid-related harms, including misuse, dependency, and overdose. This CME course is designed to fulfill the training requirements of the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act by equipping Alabama-based healthcare professionals with evidence-based knowledge and skills to prevent, identify, treat, and manage substance use disorders (SUDs).
