This comprehensive online course is designed for veterinarians and veterinary technicians seeking advanced, evidence-based training in canine and feline nutrition. The program offers in-depth instruction on the principles of companion animal nutrition, emphasizing species-specific nutrient requirements, nutrient metabolism, and the role of nutrition in both health and disease. Delivered in a self-paced format, the course is structured into three modules: 1. Fundamentals of Nutrition: covering core nutrition concepts and metabolic pathways. 2. Applied Canine and Feline Nutrition: focusing on species-specific dietary needs, ingredient evaluation, and formulation principles. 3. Clinical Nutrition: exploring therapeutic nutrition and the dietary management of disease states. The course includes approximately 60 hours of recorded lectures and is offered three times per year: January, April, and August. Key Topics Include: 1. Disease states addressed include: Diabetes mellitus, Urolithiasis, Dermatologic conditions, Chronic kidney disease, Cancer, Hepatic lipidosis, Gastrointestinal disorders, Cardiac disease, Skeletal disorders, and Obesity.
