Course overview

This class is designed to help you to understand your fair housing obligations under State and Federal laws. You will gain an overview of the laws that prohibit discrimination in the purchase and rental of residential properties. You will familiarize yourself with the definitions of the protected classes so that you may avoid discrimination both deliberate and accidental. You will understand prohibited acts and understand the enforcement actions for violations. Most violations of fair housing are accidental, we will focus our discussion on how you can recognize and avoid these mistakes in the application of your individual real estate practice.
