Laws, Regulations, and Ethics in Real Estate

Course overview

This class discusses the various laws, regulations, rules, codes, policies, and ethics that define and drive the real estate brokerage practice. In a single transaction, the actions required of a real estate licensee may be subject to multiple layers of governance. The course provides an explanation of who creates and promulgates these guiding principles. It also defines the penalties and the responsibility for enforcement when those principles are not followed. Special emphasis is placed on the REALTOR Code of Ethics with a thorough explanation of the Articles that make up the Code. Contrasts are made between the correct application of articles versus the application of related laws and regulations.
