Course overview

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is an evidence-based therapeutic modality that has demonstrated remarkable success for people who have experienced trauma. Using the theoretical model and techniques taught in this training, therapists will be able to help clients dislodge and reprocess traumatic and disturbing memories. This is the standard EMDRIA-approved EMDR Basic Training. Tuition includes two 3-day training sessions and 10 consultation hours. Students who enroll in this course will be able to practice EMDR with clients after the first training. Presenter Bio: Stacy Stoddard LCMFT, Founder, EMDRIA Certified EMDR Provider and Approved Trainer & Consultant Stacy Stoddard is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT) with over 20 years of experience. She works with individuals, couples, and families, specializing in trauma (childhood trauma and more current traumas), PTSD, grief, and loss. Stacy is an EMDRIA Approved EMDR Trainer and Consultant, and loves blending her passion of clinical work and teaching into her EMDR Trainings. Stacy is the owner of The Counseling Center (www.towsoncounselingcenter.com) in Towson, Maryland and is also the Founder of the Therapist Education Institute. In addition to teaching the EMDR Basic Trainings, she offers a variety of Advanced EMDR Trainings, including EMDR and Dreamwork, Live Client Demonstrations, and Beyond the Basics Workshops, both live and OnDemand. When shes not seeing clients or doing an EMDR Training, Stacy enjoys traveling to see her daughter in college and spending time with her teenage son. She also enjoys motorcycle rides with her husband, and doing anything that involves her two dogs. In addition to her practice at The Counseling Center, Stacy is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland. She is also available for speaking engagements and creating special programs and groups for workplaces, schools, and organizations. Explain window of tolerance and its relevance to EMDR preparation 11. Identify complex trauma and special considerations for processing 12. Describe the need for effective case conceptualization 13. Identify the ethical considerations for EMDR Therapy 14. Identify the importance of the Preparation Phase 15. Identify the purpose of the SUD scale and what it stands for 16. Describe one purpose for Safe/Calm Place utilization 17. Explain symptoms suggesting a possible dissociative disorder 18. Describe when you would apply the Future Template 19.
