Domestic violence and sexual assault are widespread, underreported public health crises that intersect with nearly every area of healthcare. Nurses and healthcare providers are often in a unique position to identify survivors, offer trauma-informed support, and ensure access to timely interventions. However, these opportunities are frequently missed due to stigma, lack of training, or implicit bias. This course provides nurses with the foundational knowledge and practical tools to recognize signs of abuse, respond compassionately and ethically, and document encounters appropriately. From emergency departments to primary care and home health, this training equips providers to advocate for patients, collaborate across disciplines, and uphold survivor dignity and safety.
