Course overview

The Substance Use Deflection ECHO is a virtual learning platform designed to support teams engaged in deflection and prearrest diversion initiatives. As the field continues to evolve, the program highlights core components of deflection models and priority areas for implementation, sustainability, and community impact. Topics include, but are not limited to, post overdose outreach, early intervention strategies, treatment linkage, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The Deflection ECHO reinforces model fidelity while addressing key themes such as equity, cross-system coordination, and community based care. Participants engage in real time, cross disciplinary learning, offering peer guidance and support throughout the series. The program is focused and practical content builds participant confidence, knowledge, and skills to advance deflection efforts across diverse agency and community settings.
