This IV Infusion course is designed specifically for Healthcare personnel who want to start their own IV Therapy clinic or incorporate IV infusion services into their practice. This infusion course covers: Initiation of Peripheral IV - How to initiate an infusion, Venipuncture/ Intravenous insertion/ Hands on Practice IV Start to increase confidence or just to refresh IV Starts (Mannequins are used for venipuncture practice). IV catheter/ needle size selection, and infusion type, Concentration of various IV Solutions, Dressing application, spiking bags, Priming IV tubing, hanging IV solutions. Understanding methods of infusions: primary, piggyback, secondary, Microdrip & Macrodrip infusion sets; using volume-controlled sets. Flushing IV extensions, protocols, filter tubing. Using infusion pumps End cap changes, injection cap maintenance. Discontinuation of the IV. Management of Advanced Vascular Access: IV therapy via Midline Catheters & various Central lines Overview of Central Lines (P.I.C.C., tunneled/non-tunneled catheters, PORTS). Infusion via advance Vascular access (Midline) & Central lines. Accessing/de-accessing central line ports.
