Fall Prevention

Course overview

Falls are the leading cause of fatal and nonfatal injuries among adults 65 and older. Evidence suggests that more than 20, 000 older adults die as a result of falls each year. Further research suggests that the rate of fall-related deaths among older adults in the United States is on the rise. Fortunately, falls are preventable. Fall prevention programs have been shown to be an effective way to prevent fall-related injuries and deaths. This CEU will provide health care professionals with the necessary insight to identify, implement and sustain fall prevention programs in their community to best serve older adult populations.
