Course overview

Motor planning -the ability to plan, sequence, and execute movement -is essential in early childhood, forming the foundation for communication, feeding, mobility, and broader functional development. Efficient movement depends on aligned body segments and coordinated respiration, making breath control an essential yet often overlooked aspect of motor learning. In fast-paced clinical settings, prioritizing treatment is key. This webinar explores cutting-edge insights on neuroplasticity, motor learning, feedback, and the NDT Practice Model, equipping clinicians with practical strategies to maximize functional gains in every session. Learn how to apply hands-on techniques that integrate postural alignment and breath control with speech and functional movement goals, ultimately supporting intelligible speech sound production, functional communication and functional movement. Additionally, discover how to coach parents to reinforce progress beyond therapy, ensuring meaningful change in daily life. Designed for SLPs OTs, and PTs who support children with neurologic diagnoses in clinical, educational, or home-based settings. This session offers practical tools to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and promote functional outcomes that truly matter to children and families. Information will be provided via lecture and video/photo demonstrations of the interventions discussed.
